PassiveHouse Symposium 2010

On Friday September 3th 2010 the two Belgian passive house organisations, Passiefhuis Platform and Plate-forme Maison Passive, are organising the ninth Passive House Symposium. Over the years this unique initiative has developed into a leading event in the world of passive and very energy efficient building. This scientific conference addresses all professionals from the construction world: architects, engineers and bureaus, besides policy makers and public organizations. This symposium offers a platform to about thirty speakers from all over Europe, to share their knowledge on innovative technologies, their research and their experience. Hence the symposium is an excellent opportunity to stay informed about the latest developments in the field of energy efficient buildings.

Like the past years our program includes a varied range of lectures. This year we have chosen the following topics:

Aula 1: Le Palace Ballroom

Zero energy developments, part 1
Zero energy developments, part 2
Refurbishment
Passive real estate

Aula 2: Vision & Clarity

Social and collective housing
Passive schools, office blocks and health care buildings
Techniques and calculations, part 1
Techniques and calculations, part 2

Dr. Wolfgang Feist, pioneer of the passive house concept and founder of the famous Passivhaus Institut, will open the PassiveHouse symposium on Friday 3th of September as keynote speaker.

Participants can choose between two parallel sessions. Simultaneous interpretation ensures accurate understanding of non-English speakers. Hence, the symposium allows building professionals from various sectors to keep their specific knowledge related to energy-conscious and passive houses most effectively up-to-date. Moreover, participants will receive the Symposium-Proceedings, summarizing the contributions made during the symposium.
